the mission
My work stands apart by focusing on the ongoing development of the subconscious. Rather than aligning with a single genre or style, my art seeks to participate in this grand continuum, evolving alongside the many “isms” that have shaped our visual language.
For the Academia
My artistic practice is grounded in a bifurcated methodology that honors both the intuitive and the cognitive dimensions of creation. The initial stage is governed by a disciplined form of Automatism: within a matter of moments, I allow the subconscious to guide my hand, producing gestural marks that are at once spontaneous and subtly informed by years of artistic mastery—much like the effortless fluency of a signature, shaped by repetition and muscle memory.
This intuitive outpouring is then preserved in its entirety, serving as a raw, unmediated record of the subconscious. In the subsequent phase, I engage in a process of cognitive refinement—revealing latent forms, orchestrating color harmonies, and making deliberate compositional decisions. Here, the artistry lies in amplifying and crystallizing the subconscious voice, transforming instinctive marks into a coherent visual language.
My approach draws inspiration from the Surrealist tradition of psychic automatism, yet seeks to advance it by integrating contemporary sensibilities and a heightened awareness of the psyche as an origin to Art. The resulting works are not merely exercises in chance, but rather dialogues between intuition and intellect—each piece a testament to the enduring power of the unconscious, elevated through conscious intervention.
In presenting this body of work, I aim to contribute a fresh perspective beyond the era of abstraction, inviting collectors and connoisseurs to witness the dynamic interplay between mastery and mystery, process and product, history and innovation.
For the kindred souls
I create my art in two main steps, blending both instinct and careful thought. First, I let my hand move freely and quickly across the surface, without thinking—like signing your name after years of practice. This stage is all about capturing pure, honest energy from deep inside, without planning or editing. The marks I make are spontaneous, shaped by my experience but guided by the subconscious, much like the mysterious writing you might see in dreams or ancient scripts.
Once this raw, expressive layer is finished, I step back and look for hidden shapes or patterns. Then, I carefully add color and make choices about what to highlight, turning those first marks into a finished piece. This second stage is where I apply my skills and judgment to bring out meaning and beauty from the chaos, creating a balance between wild creativity and thoughtful design.
My work is inspired by artists who believed in letting the subconscious mind lead the way, but I also bring in a modern understanding of how our inner worlds shape what we create. By blending Asemic script—writing that looks like language but has no set meaning—with the automatic, free-flowing style of l’automatisme, I show how both art and writing can come from the same deep, universal source inside us all.
Through this process, I hope to offer something new: art that is both mysterious and carefully crafted, inviting everyone—not just art experts—to experience the fascinating dance between instinct and intention, chaos and order, the familiar and the unknown.
